A spoonful of energy helps you rise above your mental helath challenges

Energy healing has so many benefits and you may have often heard or read me discussing the physical health benefits energy healing offered me, but today I’m going to be discussing what energy healing can offer in terms of our mental health.

Energy healing first and foremost helps us to relax, allow us a moment of peace where nothing else matters but that moment. In that moment we can let go of the to do lists, of the timetables, the appointments, the demands of home, family, and work. You get to just be, you get to be you. I personally find the moment between me, the therapy bed, and the therapist some of the most freeing moments, second to getting out in nature. It’s a moment where I don’t need to think about my phone, what I’m going to make for tea or what I happened to be doing on a cold rainy Tuesday in March 2007. So, from this point of view this is one of the first benefits of energy healing, it allows you to take a mindful moment. Through this deep relaxation and mindfulness, our stress and anxiety levels lessen.
The next benefit of energy healing is it allows you to release any negative emotions, or any emotions you have been holding onto, this healing helps us to let go of the past, and this helps us to move forward. It also allows us to have a shift of perspective, giving us some much needed mental clarity when times feel challenging, difficult or when you feel there isn’t a way out. This mental clarity helps you to connect to your higher self, your intuition or gut instinct.
Moving onto something that is a physical and a mental health benefit. Sleep. Our sleep is something that can be drastically affected by our stress levels and our mental health. In the past when I was having issues with my mental health when I was young, I would sleep and sleep and sleep, which was not overly normal for me as I’ve always been a light sleeper. Sleeping too much is actually not great for us, we can have issues with our brain functions, cognition, hormones, circadian cycles, and impaired glucose tolerance. After my dad died, I barely got any sleep, this was very new to me, I was used to broken sleep cycles because of raising children, but one or two hours with zero napping during the day?? No, this was new and difficult and overwhelming. Reiki can help with this, at the time, I was aware of reiki but was completely unaware of anyone offering it in my area at the time, and for reasons I won’t go into here, was not an option for me. But after reiki treatments and later my attunement my sleep is much improved. Still not perfect but much better than it ever used to be. There is a much greater balance of sleeping at the right time, quality of sleep and typically much more awake during the day. And now I have many more energy treatments have accessed and use myself to aid the balance of sleep, which has greatly affected my mood and mental health for the better.
Energy treatments also help us remain grounded and be more self-aware of what is going on around us and within us. This helps to be much more focused, this too will help relieve those stressors we have in our lives.
Now, this is technically a physical benefit, but when you have a pain or chronic pain issue, this overtime can begin to affect our mood. At the height of my M.E. and Fibromyalgia the pain was overwhelming, and it was naturally affecting my mood, and I felt like it was changing me as a person. I laughed a lot less, I felt like there wasn’t an awful lot to look forward to, just more of the same, pain, discomfort, migraines, hypersomnia, and insomnia and just generally feeling useless. There didn’t seem to be much of anything to look forward to. Once I started having reiki treatments, my pain started to decrease, I was experiencing fewer migraines and headaches, my sleep was much better – more balanced, I started to feel like the old me again. I started to feel the joy in my life again, my mindset and perspective was changing. I felt that inner peace, that feeling of comfort and tranquillity within. This was because the energy healing was working its magic, it was clearing the junk file of thoughts, supressed memories, and emotions, and reducing my physical pain.
Energy healing also helps you to mange your emotions in a much more constructive way instead of reaching out for other crutches from food, alcohol, or drugs to manage or even mask and numb how you feel.
I’m often asked which form of energy healing I would recommend for helping to improve mental health, well the short answer is any of them. And this is simply because it isn’t a one size fits all. My top recommendations will always be Reiki or Access Bars. Just because these are my personal favourites nothing more nothing less. However, I’ve had people who have reported best results from angelic healing, my seven gateway treatment, crystal healing or some of the combo healing sessions such as reiki and crystal healing. It’s really all down to personal experience and preference.
So, if you’re new to energy healing and never experienced it before or have limited experience, I would recommend booking taster sessions. But the first treatment I would recommend is Reiki, it is my personal favourite of a go to therapy, but its also the one I have seen the best improvements from.
