We have quite a lot of intense energies going on under this full moon, there have been a lot of releases over this past 10 days as we planets have been coming out of Retrograde, and portals have been opening, throw into the mix a solar storm. With all this going on it has been leading to a lot of overwhelm, healing, insights, and wisdom.

On October 20th the Full Moon is in Aries, the full moon energies peak at 3:56pm (GMT) along with the t square formation of Mars, Pluto, and Eris. This configuration is going to bring quite a bit of tension; however, this tension could help to inspire us and take action where it is needed. With this combination and the moon being in the sign of Aries this is very much a masculine influence calling on us to take action in our lives. With the mix of planets this may cause some confusion about what action you need to take. Mars represents drive, passion, ambition, energy and particularly expressive, Pluto represents transformation, rebirth, destruction, and regeneration. And finally, Eris represents discord and strife, but brings a feminine aspect of the warrior within. Aries represents leadership, energetic, forceful, headstrong and vitality. With mars being so active under this full moon this may make us impulsive and quick to act without thinking about the consequences of our decisions, this may also cause us to be reactive with our emotions causing us to lash out or being too forceful.

Now don’t allow all of this prevent you from taking action, ground yourself in the present moment and if something feels right go for it. Use this assertive and affirmative energy to allow you to take action and communicate what it is that we want and need to thrive and succeed. With the combo of Mars and Pluto and being in an active formation combined with the Full Moon this will be an excellent time to highlight any fears and limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck, or you just feel you need to overcome in order to move forward with your goals and soul evolution. Ask yourself when you are making decisions are these being made from a place of knowing and trusting or a place of fear? Is it a safety net? Or is it a wall blocking you from moving forward or even preventing you from becoming aware of your fears and putting the power in your hands. Below I have inserted an extract from my book Journey to Love discussing this topic
“Our ego is a funny thing, it can take our experiences and completely re-shape them, in turn re-shaping the way we think, perceive the world, and how we experience the world going forward. And these are the things that the ego takes on and reshapes can be absolutely tiny. Be careful what words you use, you can either use them as a power of good, weaving beautiful magic into your life, or weaving harm, damage, and shadows. So, have a look at these thoughts and fears are they truly keeping you safe? Or are they keeping you small? Is this your wall? Or is it a safety net? Are they stopping you from doing something great? Are they stopping you from weaving magic into your day to day life? So, is that fear of failure or fear of success stopping you applying for that promotion? Are you constantly saying things like I’m fat, ugly, stupid, a failure, incapable, unwanted, unloved etc. Be very careful about that, because you are affirming the very thing you don’t want, the more you affirm, the more power you give it, and were either going magnetise that experience to your future and also radiate that belief out. Meaning others could believe it about you too.”
On another level this moon is asking us to look at what we need and what we are ready to release – the two may seem the same but are very different. Sometimes we know what it is that we need to release, but we’re simply not quite ready to let it go, we go over it in our minds, the blanket of negativity, or stagnant energy we keep hold of it because we’re familiar with it. And sometimes something new, even though it will be better for us, it’s the fear of unknown. So what ideas, thoughts, feelings, goals, or beliefs are you ready to say goodbye to? Use this time to reassess them, but also to reflect on them, your progress etc. Do you need to readdress your goals and the plans you have put in place to achieve them? Or – are these goals no longer aligning with you? If you know what intentions you set for the Aries New Moon earlier in the year, take time to revisit them and see if or how they have manifested? What needs to be released, shed, let go of in order to bring some harmony and direction back into your life?
Use this time to honour what your mind, body and soul need to feel nourished and renewed, what do you need to look after your health and wellbeing revitalising your energy for the darker months. If you would like to learn more about what else, we are faced with on or around this full moon take a look at the October Energy Forecast here.

So, with all of this in mind let’s look at the ritual for this full moon. This ritual is designed to help you look within and view your fears but also look at what you need to move forward. This ritual can be completed three days before the Full Moon and up to three days after the full moon peaks.
Full Moon in Aries Ritual
Cleansing tool of choice (E.g., Crystals, Reiki, dried herb sticks, incense, bells, etc.)
Pen and paper
A fireproof dish
A lighter
Optional: Amethyst, Clear Quartz, or Selenite
1. Collect everything you’ll need for the ritual and find a peaceful place to follow the ritual.
2. Start by cleansing your aura using your cleansing tool of choice as you do so, recite the following cleansing prayer.
“I ask to be surrounded, filled & illuminated with Divine white light to cleanse & purify my energy. I invoke the assistance of the divine feminine, the maiden, the mother & the crone, and the goddesses Selene & Luna. I am choosing to cleanse myself & release any & all thought forms that are no longer of service to my highest good across all planes of my existence, across all universes & all lifetimes. I ask that all energies that are less than love be transmuted for the highest good of all.
So it is, So it is, So it is.”
3. Then settle into a meditation to ease into the ritual with the Watching the Breath Meditation this will help you become still and willing to observe.
4. Then after the meditation follow the below writing exercise:
§ Get down all the thoughts and feelings of anger, fear, resentment, frustration, attack thoughts (thoughts which are a form of attack towards yourself or others), onto paper. Be real with yourself, don’t be afraid to be brutally honest it’s just you, your thoughts and feelings, your pen and paper. If you don’t, you’ll only be lying to yourself, pretending it doesn’t exist, that it’s not a problem – is in of itself a problem and is a part of the problems you have. And these can be anything from the really big stuff to the absolutely tiny things – and the reason for this is our minds make no separation here. I remember being told “Our brains don’t have a sense of humour” so when we’re saying things like I’m crap at that – your brain is hearing I’m crap. That’s it, it’s taking the I as an affirmation and the descriptive word of crap and discarding the rest. Now, are these really the kinds of things you want to be affirming to yourself? I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say no. Think about it would you say that to someone else – probable not, yet we are literally telling ourselves these unkind things every day.
§ So, every little thing from
§ I think I’m no good at xxx
§ I don’t like xxxx about my appearance
§ I am afraid of xxxx
§ Once you’ve got all this out, look for common threads and themes look for the fear. And once you’ve done this, now think about what experiences triggers these thoughts and feelings and get them out. Is it social situations, requests for work or information, not having the answers, doing something wrong, or misunderstanding something?
§ Then once you’ve done this, once again look for the common threads and themes. E.g., Other people - lacking control of a situation, fear of not being good enough, fear of not being heard etc. And then look at how it affects your behaviours and actions.
§ I would like you to draw up two columns on a page marking one column safe and the other small. In the small column write down the fears that you have identified that are keeping you from making changes, from stepping out of your comfort zone. And in the safe column the fears that you have identified that keep you safe from coming to actual harm. The purpose of this to show you how much and what is actually holding you back from rising.
5. Then once you have written all of this out and you are ready to release it (if you would prefer to write out separately the fears and limiting beliefs you are ready to release you can do this).
6. The place your fears into your fireproof bowl/dish recite the following mantra to yourself “I am ready, willing and able to show up for myself.” As many times you feel it takes you til you feel ready to release your fears and beliefs.
7. Then once you have done this light your letter/writings.
8. While the letter burns if you decided to bring amethyst hold the crystal in your hand and focus on watching the letter burn away and using your breath to release the fears breathing in the new energies and vitality and breathing out fears.
9. Then once the fire is extinguished take the bowl and place it outside in the light of the full moon and allow the light to take it away and cleanse it.
10. Then as an optional closing take time and list what you are grateful for.
