I had a feeling

Today we are going to be talking about spirit guides who they are and what they do. I remember when I started actively talking about Spirit Guides to my mum she was really confused, she would nod smile and listen. She believed in spirit but since the passing of my dad she felt very disconnected from this way of life, and she had never learned about the spiritual development side of things. So, one day, I mentioned them again, and she said, “What is a spirit Guide?” and I smiled and before I got a chance to answer she asked, “Is it like a guardian angel?” to which I nodded and said yes. Sometimes when we’re trying to get people to understand a concept if they have an initial idea this is the easiest place to start with. She then asked, “Do I have one”, I replied “Yes you do, we all have a spirit guide or spirit team, but dependent on where we are on our journey, entirely depends on whether the team is active or not”.

After receiving reiki sessions from me last year, she started to open herself back up to spirit and is having more experiences again, so I occasionally get a phone call asking questions.

Spirit guides are beings who work with us and guide us and protect us through our journey in life. Some spirit guides are with us for a short period of time to help us with transitions in our lives, some are with us for a few years and others come with us through other lifetimes. We also have guides, who have been with us since the moment our souls were incarnated.

There are several types of spirit guides I’ll start with those that are closest to the earth realm:

Ancestral or Loved Ones: Sometimes we have guides who are ancestral guides or passed loved ones. The ancestral guides are the those who are family members that are further down our family line that we have had no contact or connection with and have no immediate contact with our immediate family. We can also have guides who are grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles etc. We can also have friends who have passed who fall into this category. Sometimes within the ancestral spirit guide category we also can have people who we were related to in a past life who have followed us and help to guide us.

Elemental Beings: These are spiritual beings who work very closely with the earth energies and its elements. They help to create balance and abundance on earth, elemental beings help us understand the rhythms and cycles of nature and our place within the world. These guides also work closely with Angels who protect special sacred sites. Some of the spirit guides in the elemental being category are beings such as fairies, elves, gnomes, unicorns, goblins, tree spirits, plant spirits, mermaids, undines, naiads, salamanders, devas, and sylphs. Depending on the element of nature they represent (earth, air, fire, and water), will depend on where to go or what element to add to your altar to connect with these beings.

Spirit Animals: These are beings that help to influence us and are meant to be a representation of the traits and skills that you are supposed to learn, acquire, or embody. These can be any animals, as a child I had imaginary friends, in hindsight they were spirit animals, there names weren’t overly imaginative they were cat and dog, I’ll give you three guesses on what kind of spirit animal they were. You can also have beings such as dragons and phoenix who fall into the category of spirit animal (but I also include them as elemental beings too).

Then we start to move up in the dimensions and higher realms.

Angels: This is probably the most commonly known one as so many of us are aware of the concepts of guardian angels. These heavenly beings help support and guide us through our lives, they work in different spheres and choirs, the higher the sphere the closer they work to source energy. The first sphere of angels contains the following three choirs which are the closest to source energy are Seraphim Angels, Cherubim Angels, Throne Angels. The second sphere contains the next three spheres which are the administrators of the universe and earth by their guidance and rule of the spirits, and they are Dominions, Virtues, and powers. And finally, the last sphere of angels is concerned with heavenly guidance, offer protection and act as messengers for humans. The choirs in this last sphere are Angels, Principalities, and Archangels. And even though the sphere closest to us is where most of the angels will connect to us from, we also have angels who are in higher choirs and spheres will also connect with and guides us through in our lives.

Higher Beings: This is category of spirit guide is where we have beings such as Gods, Goddesses, Demi Gods/Goddesses, Ascended Masters, even changelings reside in this category. These beings help us connect with higher realms of consciousness and particularly lessons of this higher consciousness, particularly on the love frequency, such as Christ consciousness.

Dimensional Beings: These are spiritual beings who operate on a higher frequency and higher consciousness they are beings usually such as Pleiadians, Lemurians, Atlanteans etc. They usually are seen as light as they never had physical bodies however, they can present to us in many forms dependent on what makes us feel comfortable. Dimensional beings typically work on the frequencies of the dimensions of 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th dimension.

Each of our spirit guides have a specific role in working with us, they can be to guide us through our day to day life, for manifesting, for work, for mediumship, for family, for healing, health, and wellbeing, for creativity, coaching, psychic and spiritual development, and much more.

Each month I offer spiritual development sessions which are suitable for all levels, including beginners. This month I am also holding a connecting to spirit circle which guides you through a meditation helping you to connect with spirit and this could be someone who is guiding you through as a guide or just a spirit who is looking to pass on a message.
